The “serrano” comfortable chairs and rockingchairs from San José de las Matas, made with pine and mahogany, as well as those from La Lista (Barahona) and Los Almácigos (Santiago Rodríguez) are still the traditional Dominican house furnitures.

The contemporary furnitures are made with different kind of wood and materials, like reed, rattan, bamboo and iron.
